CCR Day 4

Jazlynn Ramos CCR Day 4 Ms. Landis   1.        The equipment I used was just my cell phone. My cell phone was the easiest thing to get a hold of as well as to edit the clips. I found an app on the app store and used it to edit my pieces together. As well as a social media app to post my credits at the end of my film. 2.        I learned a little about technology honestly because its not much I haven’t already figured out on my own. As of my phone, I learned to use the editing app. It was clearly meant for videos just like mine because the fact that it had the different types of transitions for the different clips. 3.          Some bloopers from when I had first started filming. After:

CCR Day 3

Jazlynn Ramos Ms. Landis CCR Day 3   1.        I became a better film maker in many ways. First things first, I learned how to differentiate shot types. I never knew the name or could identify different shot types before I began this course. I really didn’t think about it or considered it, now I watch movies and can point out the types of shots being used. 2.        To start, in the beginning I learned how to do shot types as well as how to differentiate them. I also learned about mise-en-scene. I never knew what this meant until I took this class and took notes on it. This helped me learn ab the costumes, background, lighting, and etc. 3.        As of editing, I have a hard time editing. I cannot find any good apps or websites. I used one on my phone to edit my film but it was very difficult to use and It wouldn’t let me add many of my clips in. I had to screen record most of them an add it in. Then, onto sound, it was difficult to record the sound as one video. But I co

CCR Day 2

Jazlynn Ramos Media Studies CCR Day 2   1.        As of research I would search up movies that are similar to my plot. Movies that took place in the woods or movies that were of the horror film genre in general. Now, as of researching my production company. I chose Blumhouse Productions because they specialize in horror films. I researched movies they have produced. 2.        Before, I assumed we were answering this question as if we were a real movie maker. I now come to realize it is if we are actually marketing our film to others. My film can be marketed to audiences through via email, iMessage, or YouTube. These would be the most simplest ways to market my film. 3.        My target audience is those who like horror films or my family particularly. They would be my #1 supporters and the first ones to watch my film. Now, if I were to publish it on YouTube, it is available for anyone to watch. I could title it something interesting so that it can catch horror film lovers

CCR Day 1

CCR Day 1 Jazlynn Ramos         My film uses genre conventions because of how the film starts. It starts with 2 women driving and their car breaks down, I feel as if this scene is typical horror film. As well as when they begin to realize they are lost in the woods. My decisions weren’t hard to make for this opening because before I even really started, I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do. The setting I chose was fairly easy to not only film but make it make sense in the sense of what is going on. It is the woods which goes hand in hand leading to when they find the house that they will soon try to enter. As of sound, the music that is played in the back is to create some type of suspense. This will have the viewers nervous or questioning what is about to happen next. Social issues in my genre are represented typically through people getting lost with no communication to others. Sometimes even, they are trapped somewhere, it must be discrete and separated from everyone

During film moments

Difficulties encountered along the way: It was difficult finding the actual location to film. I chose multiple different areas but it was somehow still hard to be able to actually film my opening at those places. This was due to weather, time, and my actors being able to actually make it.  "A-ha" moments or learning experiences: Some of the "A-ha" moments would be when actually shooting the film. My actors and I would sometimes forget the words and it would be funny or even if we slightly mix the words up. As well as re-watching those clips would be funny and are going to be kept for some nice memories. Some learning experiences would be how to use the editing app to put together my film clips. Its practically impossible to take the film in one video so you have to piece the videos together so it makes it a whole.  Changes and revisions made to the project during production: I had to change the location of my film multiple times due to the difficulty of getting myse

Filming process

What kind of technology did you use during the process? Technology I used to film my opening was mainly iPhones which were used in every clip of the film . Lastly, I used a computer to edit the pieces together. What did you learn about using production technologies (cameras, lights, etc.)? I didn't learn much of what I haven't already known. What I did in fact learn was how to angle my camera due to trying to record in front of light. If you do not position the camera correctly it becomes blurry because of the light reflecting on the lenses.  Did you consult any sources to learn how to use your equipment (YouTube tutorials, etc.)? I did not because using a iPhone camera is fairly easy, but I did go on YouTube to look for some good editing apps. Looking for apps to piece my film together and include the background music.
