CCR Day 3

 

1.       I became a better film maker in many ways. First things first, I learned how to differentiate shot types. I never knew the name or could identify different shot types before I began this course. I really didn’t think about it or considered it, now I watch movies and can point out the types of shots being used.

2.       To start, in the beginning I learned how to do shot types as well as how to differentiate them. I also learned about mise-en-scene. I never knew what this meant until I took this class and took notes on it. This helped me learn ab the costumes, background, lighting, and etc.

3.       As of editing, I have a hard time editing. I cannot find any good apps or websites. I used one on my phone to edit my film but it was very difficult to use and It wouldn’t let me add many of my clips in. I had to screen record most of them an add it in. Then, onto sound, it was difficult to record the sound as one video. But I couldn’t figure out how to do a voice over. If you talk while recording the video as one it is very hard to hear and understand. The background noises make the person talking sound very muffled.

4.       I will leave this class knowing lots of things I didn’t know before. This would include mise-en-scene, shot types, background noises, and how to shoot my very own film. Even though we just touched base on actually doing a professional film, it gives you an idea on how to create one. Before this class I would have had no idea how difficult it is to make an actual film.

Film considerations

 In what locations will your film be shot? Why? Include pictures and/or videos of real shooting locations. I was thinking for my film to be shot around my neighborhood. My plot is people who get lost in the woods and end up in a haunted palace, so I believe shooting it around the neighborhood first would be good, then for the palace part shoot it in my house. This has been my initial thought but I am now re-thinking about shooting it in my house because it is not much palace like. Possibly another option would be my grandmas house which is much bigger and has stairs.  Who will act in your film, if anyone? Why?  My sisters can help act in my film as well as my bestfriend most likely. If they are not available I will have to find other family members to participate because regardless, the idea was for it to be older individuals including the fact that they need to be able to drive. The age I would say is around 15+ I don't necessarily want anyone younger unless I add an extra charact

CCR Day 1

  CCR Day 1 Jazlynn Ramos         My film uses genre conventions because of how the film starts. It starts with 2 women driving and their car breaks down, I feel as if this scene is typical horror film. As well as when they begin to realize they are lost in the woods. My decisions weren’t hard to make for this opening because before I even really started, I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do. The setting I chose was fairly easy to not only film but make it make sense in the sense of what is going on. It is the woods which goes hand in hand leading to when they find the house that they will soon try to enter. As of sound, the music that is played in the back is to create some type of suspense. This will have the viewers nervous or questioning what is about to happen next. Social issues in my genre are represented typically through people getting lost with no communication to others. Sometimes even, they are trapped somewhere, it must be discrete and separated from everyone

Finishing film script

 What is the shooting schedule for your film opening? I have not put it together just yet, but soon I will construct it. When I begin to put it together I need to speak with my actors to see when they are available. Once I speak with them I will be setting the location which is my house, the time will be sometime in the afternoon/ night on a weekend or 3-5 on a week day. I would prefer to begin shooting at a time when the sun is going down. So this does affect the time those can take off to help me shoot. So overall it will be sometime in the afternoon/night most likely on a weekend. Will you record any sounds during production? If so, how? Will you record sounds in-camera or using a separate audio recording system? I will record sounds during production, I want to have music in the background that creates some sort of  suspense. I will record the sounds most likely off of my phone which will be at the same time as the film is being recorded. I am not aware of any apps I can use to add
