Jazlynn Questions!!
What kind of movie am I trying to make?
I was thinking of doing a mysterious/horror film opening. Based off of my research they are typically dark, Smokey, or contain red lights. I believe this is my best option because I like horror movies and already have an idea on my film opening. After watching many of these movies it can be very beneficial to my project.
What are the settings or locations of other films in my genre? Where and when are they often shot?
Settings of horror films would include cabins, forests, cemeteries, abandoned buildings, etc. I would typically do a cemetery because of the fact that it creates a sense of mystery and gives you a instant idea that the film would have to do with something scary. Including the fact that it is in a cemetery gives the idea that it has to do with death or loss of one.
How are different social groups are normally represented/portrayed, stereotyped, etc. in your genre?
Different social groups ae normally stereotyped with a killer. Whether people are being held hostage, killed, or lost in the woods. A perfect stereotypical horror movie would have to be when people or a group of friends are stranded in the woods. They get stranded and have no gas, they typically find a cabin of some sort to find out someone actually lives there. I have seen so very many of these types of movies. Once they come to the conclusion that someone lives there they usually walk in and the group of people run out. Leaving them stuck in the woods they eventually get hunted down one by one as they fight to survive. I would like to do something different after providing everyone with this information. Something that wont seem like a typical horror movie or will have you in question of what is really happening.
