What is the genre of my film?

 What are the basic genre conventions of my movie (themes, style, characters, etc.)? 

Starting off with the actual genre I am going to be working on, horror. Based off of my research I have come across the theme which would be taking an object or a person who is not typically feared and turn it into something scary. This would include dolls, clowns, a little girl, red balloons, etc. This is an affect of making the "usual unusual". Even myself tends to be afraid of clowns and dolls and im not sure if it is because the image on how  they are portrayed in movies/films. Now for style, horror films usually include scenes of violence such as death or serious injury. As well as before, it includes evil characters or things that have been haunted. 

What do the titles normally look like for films in my genre? (style, size, font, etc.)

I have noticed the titles usually have a large font that takes up most of the screen and is usually red. Some even have the letters large dripping with blood. I have searched up some of the fonts and here are a couple used in many horror films: Chiller, Gorgonnies, Hollyweird, Jiggery Pokery, Smack, and Smudger. 

Who is the intended audience for my film?

The intended audience for my film would be horror film lovers or movie lovers in general. I say horror movie lovers because I am a big fan of horror movie and tend to find myself trying to watch every horror film I come across. Whether it is the same day or years later, I love watching horror movies over and over again, I find them so interesting. Hoping my opening film is interesting enough to those who love these types of movies so I dont disappoint!  Besides this group of people, anyone can watch it! I will get them to watch my movie by blogging about it as well as posting it to get the attention. The more who see it the better because maybe they can spread the word. I believe maybe teens as well will be another group to mainly view it including the fact that horror films are what we typically like because of the thrill it gives us.

Production company choice

 How will your film be exhibited?  In the most realistic manner, I think the only way for my film to be exhibited would be off of YouTube. I think that as well is the easiest way to publicize my film. It would be almost impossible to get my film on bigger cites such as Netflix, Theaters, or even Hulu. I honestly have no problem with displaying my film on YouTube because it is a platform anyone and everyone can access. Finishing film script

 What is the shooting schedule for your film opening? I have not put it together just yet, but soon I will construct it. When I begin to put it together I need to speak with my actors to see when they are available. Once I speak with them I will be setting the location which is my house, the time will be sometime in the afternoon/ night on a weekend or 3-5 on a week day. I would prefer to begin shooting at a time when the sun is going down. So this does affect the time those can take off to help me shoot. So overall it will be sometime in the afternoon/night most likely on a weekend. Will you record any sounds during production? If so, how? Will you record sounds in-camera or using a separate audio recording system? I will record sounds during production, I want to have music in the background that creates some sort of  suspense. Research

 I have began my research on horror movie film openings. As well as film openings in general because there is a large variety as of what I can do for mine. I have noticed they tend to have a lot of action from the beginning. I was expecting it to be very subtle and only give a brief idea of what the film could be about. One of them was an opening for the movie "SCREAM" and it is the man chasing a woman with a knife.  Now onto how this changes my film opening. I now have to re think about what I am going to create because I had the wrong idea. That is okay though because this is what the research part is for! I am glad I did it and now have a better idea of what to create. Looking at others films not only gives me an idea of what to create but it also shows me a large variety of others and endless possibilities.  Doing research as well has given me more motivation.
